UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION:

Title: Physical Education Assistant
Short description of the contents and aims of studies:
· To instruct sports for people in different age safely and promoting their health
· Candidates must have a command of the techniques of performing the most common forms and types of exercise and sport
· To instruct sports for children and youth, fitness and health-related exercise, special physical education and coaching
· To apply sports considering clients needs in their instruction
· Candidates must be able to apply their knowledge in leisure and health related exercise instruction and advisory situations and planning of these
· To give personal instruction and guidance to clients by promoting their holistic well-being
· To organize sport events and work in different projects
· To know relations between sport and society to be able to work in multicultural and international working environment
· To take care of his/her own ability to work
· To promote and improve his/her physical condition, psychological strength, social skills and physical skills and ability needed in profession
· Includes 20 credits on-the-job learning 2) Further Qualification for Masseurs/Masseuses
(40 credits / 9 months) The language of teaching is Finnish.
3) Further Qualification in Sports Facilities Maintenance
(40 credits / 10 months)
The language of teaching is Finnish. The qualification comprises following modules:
1) maintenance of sport facilities and customer service,
2) command of building and equipment technology,
3) maintenance of summer sport facilities,
4) maintenance of winter sport facilities and
5) maintenance of indoor sports facilities. Graduates can work in management, organising, advisory and maintenance jobs relating to outdoor and indoor exercise and sport facilities.
4) Specialist Qualification in Sports Facilities Maintenance (33 credits / 9 months)
The language of teaching is Finnish. The qualification comprises following modules:
1) management of maintenance of sport facilities, 2) management of use of sport facilities,
3) construction planning and supervising and
4) marketing and enterprise. Graduates can work in supervisory, management, planning and marketing jobs relating to the construction and maintenance of exercise and sports facilities. 5) Specialist Qualification in Coaching (20 credits) The language of teaching is Finnish.
HIGHER EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Business Administration >>
(140 credits / 5 years)
· In co-operation with Seinäjoki Polytechnic The language of teaching is Finnish.
SHORT-TERM STUDIES:
Basic Studies in Sports Instruction
(17 credits / 4 months)
Supplementary Studies for teachers, sports instructors, masseurs/masseuses and other groups. The language of teaching is Finnish.
